Most miscarriages are caused by abnormal chromosomes in the baby. Recurrent miscarriage is three or more consecutive pregnancy losses. It is estimated that one in six, or approximately 15% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. IVF with PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing) is used to prevent recurrent miscarriages. The treatment refers to two types of tests that may be performed on embryos prior to transfer during IVF – Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) and Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD).
